Mining Pool Infrastructure & Operations Head

Role Summary:

The Head of Mining Pool Infrastructure & Operations will be responsible for designing, deploying, and operating Oman’s exclusive national Bitcoin mining pool gateway, operated by government-subsidy Company. This role covers end-to-end technical leadership, infrastructure resilience, security, compliance reporting, and coordination with Antpool and Omani regulators.

Qualifications:

• Education:

o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Security, or related field.

o Master’s degree (MBA or IT Management) is an advantage.

• Experience:

o 10+ years in infrastructure / systems engineering / cybersecurity.

o 5+ years in a leadership role managing mission-critical infrastructure.

o Experience in crypto mining pools, blockchain infrastructure, or fintech platforms is highly desirable.

o Proven track record of managing high-availability systems (telecom, banking, datacenter, fintech).

• Technical Skills:

o Deep knowledge of networking (BGP, VPNs, DDOS mitigation).

o Strong background in Linux systems, virtualization, and database operations.

o Experience with wallet management, multisig setups, and key security practices.

o Familiarity with monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana), logging (Loki/ELK), and ticketing systems.

o Understanding of mining protocols (Stratum), FPPS/PPS payout models a big plus.

• Soft Skills:

o Exceptional leadership and communication skills.

o Strong risk management and decision-making ability.

o Comfortable liaising with government regulators and international partners.

o Fluent in English; Arabic is a strong plus.

KPIs:

• Gateway uptime (≥99.5%).

• Incident response MTTR (≤2 hours).

• Percentage of licensed miners onboarded (target: 100%).

• Security incidents (target: 0 critical breaches).

• Compliance: 100% timely reporting to MTCIT.
