Overview:
This is an elite boutique investment banking practice focused exclusively on serving the global insurance industry. The team works on some of the industry’s most complex and innovative transactions, advising clients on mergers & acquisitions, equity, debt, and structured financings, new entity formations, insurance-linked securitizations, and other critical strategic initiatives.
Through regular interaction with leading professionals across the global insurance value chain, you will gain valuable perspectives and insight on the trends shaping the P&C industry worldwide.
The practice serves a full spectrum of clients, including distributors, managing general agents, carriers, reinsurers, insurtechs, and other service providers, as well as institutional investors such as private equity sponsors, credit funds, asset managers, pension funds, family offices, and insurance-linked securities funds.
As an Associate, you will have the opportunity to:
- Play an integral role on deal teams, providing managerial and analytical support on mergers & acquisitions, equity, debt, and structured financings, and new entity formations
- Participate in the origination and execution of M&A, equity and debt transactions, and new company formations
- Prepare company valuations using various methodologies including discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout, trading comparables, and transaction comparables
- Lead the preparation of marketing materials and client presentations, as well as perform research and analyses in support of new business generation
- Build detailed financial models to evaluate performance under different operating scenarios and analyze the impacts of various capital structures and potential M&A transactions
- Develop presentation materials for client meetings, covering strategic alternatives, capital markets activity, and general corporate finance topics
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of investment banking experience as a FIG Analyst or Associate; or 3+ years of investment banking, management consulting, accounting, or other relevant financial services industry experience (preferably with exposure to the (re)insurance sector)
- Bachelor’s degree required with a strong academic record; coursework in finance, economics, mathematics, or actuarial science preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure and tight deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
- Series 7, 79, and/or 63 licenses preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
