QA Automation Engineer - Permanent

Our leading financial services client is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a strong focus on software quality and test automation. This hybrid role, based in Dublin IFSC Office, You will play a key role in reducing manual testing efforts and enhancing the overall test automation strategy within the organization.

The ideal candidate has a solid Java programming background and hands-on experience in creating UI and API automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Rest Assured, and Cucumber. Additionally, experience with automated validation for complex dynamic content like PDF/Word templates is highly desirable.

Role Requirements:

Communication Skills:

• Strong communication is essential, as the role involves working closely with an agile team.
• Clear and concise communication skills are a key requirement.

Java Expertise:

• Proficiency in Java, with active day-to-day use.
• Strong understanding of Java fundamentals and core concepts.

Automation Expertise:

• Proven experience in adding automation coverage using Java-based frameworks.
• In-depth understanding of automation framework architecture and best practices.
• Ability to discuss automation frameworks in detail.

Key Technical Skills:

• Experience with Maven and GIT.
• Enterprise-level experience with Selenium (UI automation) and Rest Assured (API automation).
• Experience with Cucumber/Serenity for test automation.

Testing Expertise:

• Solid understanding of testing principles, including when to automate versus manual testing.
• Experience creating test strategies to validate new features and apply automation effectively.
• Demonstrated positive impact of automation on testing efforts.
• Familiarity with the latest industry test automation tools and best practices.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Docker/Kubernetes experience.
• Experience in the financial services industry (preferred but not required).

Educational Requirements:

• A 3rd-level degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

Contract Details:

• Location: Hybrid working (Dublin-based office).
• Contract Type: Day rate contract.
