We are looking for an Connectivity Engineer7Network specialist to join our team on-site at our client’s factory. In this role, you will act as the local expert and first point of contact for all connectivity and IT infrastructure matters, ensuring smooth operations in collaboration with global teams and external partners.

This position is primarily focused on network infrastructure (70%), complemented by server administration (20%) and other IT infrastructure activities (10%). You will not be configuring devices directly, but your technical expertise and problem-solving mindset will be essential for troubleshooting, coordinating vendors, and driving projects.

What you will do

  • Serve as the on-site go-to person for connectivity, network, and infrastructure issues.
  • Monitor network performance, capacity, and availability, taking proactive action to prevent incidents.
  • Collaborate on logical network designs and physical infrastructure layouts (network, servers, cabling).
  • Support and coordinate implementation of security policies, patching schedules, and compliance standards.
  • Manage and escalate IT infrastructure operations, including network, telecom, and hosting services.
  • Work closely with local and global IT teams, as well as service vendors and partners.
  • Contribute to both local and global infrastructure projects in alignment with corporate guidelines.
  • Produce technical documentation such as diagrams, HLD/LLD, and standards.

What we are looking for

  • 4+ years of professional experience in network/telecom or IT infrastructure engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure hardware, Cisco LAN/WLAN/WAN (including VLANs), and virtualization (Hyper-V).
  • Understanding of network security and experience with Cisco and/or Palo Alto solutions.
  • Familiarity with ITIL methodology and ITSM tools (ServiceNow experience is a plus).
  • Ability to create network/hosting documentation and think strategically about technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both local and global stakeholders.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and comfortable working independently as well as in a team.
  • Preferred: CCNA certification (other network, server, or firewall certifications are a plus).
  • Languages: Fluent Italian and English.

Additional Information

  • Working hours: 8H (standard), with on-call duty in rotation outside these hours.
  • On-call requires availability within 1 hour of the site for urgent issues (on-site interventions approx. 5 times/year).
