Network Engineer

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

Location: Buford (Note: This position is not remote and requires in-person work at our office in Buford.)

Maintain and Optimize Computer Networks for a Fast-Growing VAR

Join our dynamic team at a rapidly growing Value-Added Reseller (VAR) specializing in network infrastructure, data center solutions, cybersecurity, and cloud services. As a Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing the computer networks of our clients, ensuring the highest levels of system security and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and troubleshoot computer networks, including mainframes, VPNs, routers, switches, and firewalls
Install and configure network equipment to meet business requirements
Create and maintain firewalls, update virus protection software, and manage data security systems to safeguard sensitive information and communications
Monitor network performance and proactively optimize systems to ensure high availability and reliability
Implement disaster recovery procedures to protect against data loss and ensure business continuity
Collaborate with other IT professionals and escalate complex issues when necessary
Stay updated on the latest security and networking best practices, offering the best solutions to enhance company and customer systems

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
Hands-on experience with network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls
Familiarity with virus protection software and data security systems
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
Ability to escalate and communicate issues clearly to management
In-depth understanding of security principles and best practices for network systems
Customer-focused with excellent attention to detail and the ability to provide tailored solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+, or equivalent
Experience with cloud solutions and virtualization technologies
Prior experience in a value-added reseller (VAR) environment is a plus
