Java Developer

JAVA DEVELOPER – 12-MONTH CONTRACT - SYDNEY / ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS / JAVA / SPRINGBOOT / DOCKER / KUBERNETES / COMPLEX PROJECT DELIVERY

• 5+ years’ strong experience with Java (core + APIs)
• Proven ability working on large-scale, complex enterprise systems
• Hands-on with Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Gradle
• Strong exposure to multithreading, performance optimisation, and high-volume systems
• Contract: 12 months | Daily rate: $800 – $1000 + Super (depending on experience)
• Sydney-based role, hybrid working model

We’re working with a major enterprise client on a large-scale technology transformation project. The program spans multiple business functions and requires robust, high-performing systems to support critical operations.

This is an opportunity to work end-to-end across project build, enhancement, and implementation, joining an established engineering team where technical expertise directly drives delivery outcomes.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

You’ll be developing new features and enhancements for a core enterprise application, working across the full software development lifecycle.

This means:

• Contributing to Agile teams delivering new functionality in Java
• Owning development from requirements through to testing and release
• Building and optimising Java APIs used in core systems
• Working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Gradle)
• Collaborating with distributed technical teams across regions
• Liaising with end users and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve queries

WE NEED YOU TO HAVE…..

• 5+ years’ Java development experience
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and API development
• Background in multithreading, performance tuning, enterprise-scale systems
• Practical experience with DevOps pipelines & tools
• SQL skills and strong understanding of relational databases
• Comfort working in UNIX environments
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders

IT’S NICE TO HAVE…..

• Experience with financial systems or other complex transactional platforms
• Exposure to other enterprise technologies or trading platforms
• Domain knowledge in high-volume data or real-time processing systems
