Department Head – Data Intelligence & Analytics

Doha Bank is seeking a strategic and visionary leader to head its Data Intelligence & Analytics department. This high-impact role reports directly to the Chief Information Officer and is responsible for driving the Bank’s enterprise-wide data strategy, governance, and analytics capabilities. You will lead a multidisciplinary team focused on unlocking the power of data to improve performance, reduce risk, and enhance operational efficiency across all business functions.

Role Overview: You will oversee key pillars of the data ecosystem including Data Governance, Data Operations, and Management Information Systems (MIS). Your mission is to design and implement scalable Big Data solutions, develop an enterprise data management framework, and ensure robust data delivery aligned with business goals and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the CDIO to define and implement the Bank’s data strategy and value proposition.
• Align data initiatives with broader DS&IT goals and market trends.
• Develop performance metrics and support budget planning for the department.
• Shape the long-term roadmap for data architecture and governance.
• Lead the development of policies, procedures, and best practices for data operations.
• Oversee data migration, integration, and automation projects across the enterprise.
• Partner with digital and technology teams to build scalable analytics platforms.
• Deliver impactful data solutions by translating business needs into actionable insights.
• Guide the creation of automated reporting tools to enhance decision-making.
• Promote innovation through advanced analytics and emerging technologies.
• Work cross-functionally with business units to define analytics requirements.
• Ensure compliance with QCB and other regulatory bodies through data-driven controls.
• Provide thought leadership on analytics tools, big data methods, and industry trends.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s degree in Management or Technology is a plus.
• 15–20 years of experience in banking or financial services, with a strong focus on data and analytics.
• Proven track record in program management, data science, and user-centered design.
• Deep understanding of data governance, big data platforms, and enterprise architecture.
