Your new company

Are you ready to take the next step in your cyber security career? Our client, a leading enterprise organisation, is expanding its cyber capabilities and seeking a Junior Cyber Risk & Advisory Analyst to join their collaborative and forward-thinking Security Consulting team. This newly created 12-month contract role offers the potential for multiple extensions or to join the team on a permanent basis. This role is open to candidates ideally based in Brisbane, with flexibility for candidates located in Melbourne or Sydney. The team plays a critical role in guiding technology projects through secure design and delivery processes, ensuring security is embedded from the ground up.

Your new role

As a Junior Cyber Risk & Advisory Analyst, you'll support the secure delivery of technology solutions by guiding internal teams through the Security Development Lifecycle (SDLC). You'll review artefacts, assess security controls, and contribute to threat modelling activities - with a particular focus on the STRIDE framework.

This is a hands-on, process-driven role ideal for someone early in their cyber career who enjoys structured work, problem-solving, and cross-team collaboration. You'll become a key point of contact for teams building or buying technology platforms, helping them understand and apply security requirements throughout the development process. You'll be supported by experienced security professionals and have the opportunity to grow into broader advisory and consulting responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review SDL artefacts such as control workbooks, design documents, and architecture assessments
  • Support threat modelling activities, particularly using STRIDE
  • Provide practical security advice to delivery teams across various technology domains
  • Help teams understand and apply baseline security controls
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote secure design practices
  • Assist in identifying gaps and recommending remediation strategies for security issues

What you'll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you'll bring:
  • 3 years of experience in cyber security, ideally with a background in IT
  • Exposure to security threat modelling, particularly STRIDE is advantageous
  • A broad understanding of cyber security controls particularly in enterprise environments
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or related fields (preferred)
  • Experience working in large corporate or enterprise environments is highly regarded

What you'll get in return

  • A structured and supportive environment to grow your cyber security career
  • Exposure to real-world SDL practices and enterprise security frameworks
  • The opportunity to work across a variety of technology teams and platforms
  • A competitive daily rate with potential for extension or to join the team permanently
