As a Business Data Analyst at Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS), you will work at the intersection of data, finance, and technology. You will design and optimize Power BI dashboards, apply data modeling best practices, and explore AI-driven solutions to enhance reporting and analytics. As a Business Data Analyst at Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS), you will work at the intersection of data, finance, and technology. You will design and optimize Power BI dashboards, apply data modeling best practices, and explore AI-driven solutions to enhance reporting and analytics. This is your chance to combine technical expertise with business acumen in a dynamic, international environment.
Who You will work with
You will report to the Head of Business Performance and Financial Planning and collaborate closely with the Business Performance and Financial Planning team, as well as stakeholders across WSS. You will play a key role in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and maintain Power BI data models, reports, and dashboards that deliver actionable insights.
- Translate business requirements into impactful dashboards and analytics solutions.
- Promote best practices in Power BI design, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Analyze and benchmark financial and operational data to identify trends and support decision-making.
- Perform ad hoc and strategic analyses to provide data-driven recommendations.
- Explore opportunities to leverage AI tools and automation to improve reporting and analytics processes.
- Use basic coding (e.g., Python) to streamline data processing and enhance reporting workflows.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in a data-driven analytical role.
- Proven expertise in Power BI (data modeling, DAX) and SQL, including building and optimizing complex dashboards.
- Familiarity with data warehouse structures (star/snowflake schemas) and calculated measures.
- Understanding of financial concepts (P&L, balance sheet) is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of AI-driven analytics tools and coding (e.g., Python) is a plus.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- An analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Interest in business processes and bridging analytics with reporting.
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- A proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented team player.
