Our client is a leading Data Center operator working closely with hyperscalers across APAC, expanding aggressively (beyond 200MW expansion in plan for the next couple of years) and have around a billion USD in funding to help their rapid expansion.
They are currently seeking for a Regional Data Center Senior Project Manager to join their expanding team, with a proven track record in managing both Greenfield and Brownfield Data Center projects across the region. The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting the team at all phases of the data center project lifecycle, from initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, to closing.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Project Leadership:
· Own the end-to-end project management lifecycle for regional data center projects, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and successful closure.
· Develop and manage the master project program, charter, and establish robust project processes.
· Lead cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams, fostering a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
· Translate complex business plans and requirements into clear, executable project deliverables.
Financial & Commercial Stewardship:
· Prepare and manage multi-million dollar project budgets, capital funding requests, and cash flow, ensuring strict financial discipline and spending within approved limits.
· Lead the end-to-end tender process, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract administration to secure the best value.
Technical Execution & Oversight:
· Provide day-to-day construction oversight, ensuring timely, cost-efficient, and EHS-compliant project execution.
· Apply deep knowledge of data center critical M&E systems (UPS, Generators, Chillers, Cooling Towers, etc.) and their testing protocols (FAT, SAT, IST).
· Utilize expertise in civil/architectural details to develop efficient construction sequences and schedules.
· Review and interpret design and construction drawings for all disciplines (Architectural, Structural, M&E).
Stakeholder & Risk Management:
· Serve as the primary point of contact, maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders to facilitate communication, provide transparent progress reporting, and address concerns proactively.
· Ensure all projects conform to data center redundancy configurations, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
· Champion Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, ensuring full compliance by all contractors on site.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or relevant disciplines
· 10+ years of proven experience in project/construction management, with a demonstrable track record of delivering greenfield and/or brownfield data center projects.
· Deep technical knowledge of data center critical infrastructure, redundancy requirements, and M&E systems.
· Proven proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project) and expert-level ability to read construction drawings.
· Exceptional leadership skills with experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
· Willingness to travel regionally (20-25%).
