As a Software Engineer with a focus on testing, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a team of developers working on the cloud-based people management system designed to simplify and connect every aspect of people management software in medium to large businesses, education, and local government organisations. You will work closely with other Engineers across the company, adhering to industry best practices. Your expertise in building cloud-ready products will be instrumental in driving successful outcomes.
The team is integrated and allocated in Poland, Ukraine, United Kingdom and India. Team members use Azure DevOps and GitHub Issues to work with backlog and prioritize items. Communication mainly consists of daily meetings and interpersonal communication via Slack and Microsoft Teams. We’re following the Scrum process and practicing the Agile Way of Working in close, day-to-day collaboration with each other.
Responsibilites
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for web (including cross-browser), API, and backend systems to ensure high-quality and reliable software releases
- Conduct comprehensive API testing using tools such as Playwright and Postman to validate both functional and performance aspects of services
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure product features are testable, well-implemented, and aligned with user expectations
- Integrate automated tests seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with development teams
- Participate in code reviews, providing feedback to improve the quality, readability, and maintainability of test code
- Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, report bugs, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues promptly
- Investigate and resolve flaky or unreliable automated tests to maintain a robust and trustworthy test suite
- Write detailed and accurate test steps and scenarios based on user stories or informational materials such as feature videos
- Contribute to documentation and decision-making regarding testing processes, standards, and tools
Qualifications and Skills
- 4+ years of experience in test automation development, with a proven track record of building and maintaining reliable, scalable test frameworks
- Significant hands-on experience with Playwright is essential for this role
- Experience in test automation, with a focus on developing and maintaining reliable and scalable automated test frameworks
- Proficiency in TypeScript, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable test code
- Strong experience in testing APIs, including both REST and gRPC, with a solid understanding of how to validate API requests and responses
- Understanding of how to build resilient test suites that work at scale with large teams
- Experience with SOAP API testing is required
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Upper-Intermediate English level or higher (both verbal and written)
