Job Description
The Android Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Android applications with a strong focus on product outcomes. This role requires technical proficiency, ownership of the product lifecycle, and active contribution to the product’s success metrics, including user engagement, stability, and business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features aligned with product goals.
- Take ownership of product quality, performance, and user experience across the entire development lifecycle.
- Monitor and analyse product metrics (e.g., crash rates, retention, engagement) to identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in product planning and contribute to prioritisation based on technical feasibility and user impact.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
- Actively engage in post-release monitoring and iterate based on user feedback and analytics.
- Document technical decisions and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
- 3+ years of experience in Android development with Kotlin.
- Strong understanding of Android architecture components (e.g., ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation, Compose).
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with asynchronous data flows.
- Familiarity with analytics platforms (e.g., Firebase, Amplitude) and performance monitoring tools.
- Proven ability to take ownership of product outcomes and drive improvements.
