Python Developer – AI Engineering (Global BioPharma)

Location: Hybrid – 2 days/week onsite at HQ (flexible)

Contract: Full-time (4 days/week possible for the right profile)

Our client, a leading global biopharmaceutical company, is seeking an experienced Python Developer to join their AI Engineering Team within Internal IT. You’ll be part of a ~10-person team (mix of internal and external experts) working on innovative, fast-paced AI projects that integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) to transform business processes.

Role Overview

As a Python Developer, you’ll play a key role in designing and developing Python-based agents and backend applications (FastAPI or similar), collaborating with Microsoft Copilot Studio, and working closely with business experts to understand data and requirements. Projects are typically short-term (around 2 months), often running in parallel—making agility and autonomy essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop Python-based agents integrating LLMs
• Build and maintain backend applications (FastAPI/Flask or equivalent)
• Collaborate with Microsoft Copilot Studio and internal teams
• Partner with business experts to translate needs into technical solutions
• Contribute to data-oriented projects (analytics, data science)
• Deliver reliable, maintainable code in dynamic project cycles

Experience Required

• 8+ years’ experience in software development
• Strong Python programming skills
• Expertise with FastAPI (or Flask/other frameworks)
• Knowledge of LLM concepts (RAG, grounding, context engineering)
• Proven track record building backend applications
• Experience with data projects (data analytics or data science)
• Fluent English

• Comfortable with fast-moving, short-term projects
• Solid experience in API development and LLM integration

Nice to Have

• Pharmaceutical industry experience (not mandatory)
• Knowledge of Azure OpenAI
• Background in cross-functional projects (e.g., Sky, Jarvis)
