System Software Engineer – BSP Development | AI Semiconductor Start-up | Amsterdam, NL

The company is a fast-scaling semiconductor company dedicated to developing cutting-edge Secure CPU technologies are seeking a talented System Software Engineer to join their dynamic team in Amsterdam.

you will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of software components for our next-generation systems.

The company’s mission is to address fundamental risks to society stemming from geopolitical tensions, advancements in quantum computing, and the rapid progress of AI.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain BSP for ARM-based systems (bootloaders, device drivers).
• Collaborate with hardware engineers for optimal hardware-software integration.
• Design, develop, and optimize system software for embedded systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software and system-level issues.
• Develop and maintain software stacks (OS, drivers, firmware, libraries).
• Implement and optimize system software for performance, reliability, and security.
• Participate in HW/SW co-design and review processes.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in CS, CE, EE, or related field.
• Proven experience in BSP development for ARM or similar architectures.
• Strong experience in hardware-software integration.
• In-depth knowledge of bootloaders, U-Boot, and device drivers.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Experience delivering complex system software products.
• Proficiency in low-level programming (assembly language) and C/C++/Rust.
• Experience with Linux kernel development, device driver programming, and low-level system software.
• Experience with tools for debugging, profiling, and analyzing embedded software systems.
