A leading name in IT Consultancy are looking for a skilled Onsite IT Network & Security Engineer to support a high-profile legislative body in Brussels. This role involves hands-on management of network and security infrastructure, including firewalls, LAN switching, and log management. You will be embedded onsite, providing day-to-day technical support and ensuring long-term stability and security of the IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The Onsite IT Network & Security Engineer will install, configure, and manage firewalls to maintain secure network operations, while also configuring and maintaining LAN switches to ensure optimal connectivity and performance. You will deploy and manage Aruba and Cisco networking equipment, implement and maintain Graylog or similar centralized logging and monitoring solutions, and provide proactive support and troubleshooting for the network and security infrastructure. The role also involves collaborating with client stakeholders to ensure systems meet operational and compliance requirements, producing technical documentation, configurations, and operational guides as needed, and ensuring adherence to IT security best practices and organizational policies.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven hands-on experience with firewall setup and configuration.
- Strong knowledge of LAN switching technologies.
- Working experience with Aruba and Cisco networking solutions.
- Experience with Graylog or equivalent log management platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex environments.
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written).
- Ability to work independently onsite while liaising effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
*This is an initial 12 month+ contract working onsite 5 days per week at customer in Brussels, Belgium. Please note applicants must hold active CCNA Certification.
