Information Technology Engineer

IT Systems Engineer

A qualified and experienced IT Systems Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing the organization's IT infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring business continuity through effective system administration, reliable data backup solutions, and disaster recovery readiness.

The role holder must demonstrate strong technical expertise, proactive problem-solving abilities, and adherence to best practices in IT operations, with a focus on minimizing system downtime, safeguarding data integrity, and supporting overall IT service delivery.

The role holder must follow the QAFCO’s IT Operation framework, and the activities shall be aligned with IT department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

System Administration & Maintenance

* Administer and maintain physical and virtual servers, storage systems, and core infrastructure

components.

* Perform routine system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes to ensure optimal performance and security.

Backup & Recovery Management

* Administer and maintain the organization’s Backup system.

* Design, implement, and manage comprehensive backup and disaster recovery strategies.

* Ensure regular testing and validation of backup data to guarantee successful recovery in case of data loss or system failure.

* Perform routine system upgrades, patching etc. to comply with OEM design best practices and cybersecurity norms.

Monitoring & Incident Management

* Monitor systems and infrastructure for performance, availability, and security anomalies.

* Respond promptly to incidents, troubleshoot issues, implement corrective actions, resolving issues within SLA timeframes.

* Investigate and identify root-cause of occurring problems and system malfunctions and participate in the formulation of remedial solutions to avoid repeated occurrence.

System Documentation & Reporting

* Maintain detailed documentation of systems, configurations, backup procedures, and recovery plans.

* Provide periodic reports on system health, backup status, and incident logs.

* Write and revise system installation guidelines, testing guidelines and operating manuals to achieve user- friendliness of systems.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Analyze system performance and storage trends to forecast future capacity needs.

* Recommend and implement optimization strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

* Track and manage the capacity of licenses and subscription for relevant systems

Manage and Support ITSM Platform

* Administer and maintain the organization’s ITSM system, including configuration, updates, integrations, and user access.

* Develop and maintain workflows, forms, automation rules, and service catalogs in alignment with IT and business needs.

* Troubleshoot issues within the ITSM platform and liaise with vendors or support teams as necessary.

* Ensure system performance, availability, and compliance with QAFCO's internal policies and ITIL-aligned

best practices.

Support & Collaboration

* Provide second and third-level technical support to IT department and end-users.

* Collaborate with entire team within IT department on integrated solutions and project implementations.
