UX/UI Designer

About The Team
Our UX team is 40+ members strong and spans across Finland, Norway, Poland, Spain, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. With this role, you can tap into our expertise and feel secure having the support of your UX Competence Lead.
We support multiple product branches—including primary education, secondary education, and back-office products. You will work with multidisciplinary, agile SCRUM teams daily, developing our products. Additionally, you will collaborate with product and user research teams to understand the business, technical, and user requirements.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Work together with the user research team to understand our users and validate your designs.
- Facilitate workshops and ideation sessions to identify problems, explore challenges, and stimulate co-creation.
- Define user flows and wireframes based on business requirements and user needs.
- Lead product design activities in multidisciplinary SCRUM teams.
- Design and prototype high-fidelity user interfaces in line with responsive web design (RWD) principles and usability best practices.
- Collaborate with other designers to ensure alignment on design vision and execution.
- Ensure the correct implementation of Sanoma Learning Design System components and guidelines.
- Strive for digital equity and conformity with digital accessibility (ADA and WCAG) standards.
- Communicate designs—both verbally and visually—to stakeholders and proactively address feedback.
- Work closely with developers to ensure your designs are implemented accurately.
- Be open to sharing and receiving knowledge from colleagues across the organisation.
- 2+ years of commercial experience in a similar role
- Proactive and autonomous in leading product design activities (we don’t micro-manage)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with tech, business and UX stakeholders
- Solid workshop facilitation skills
- Excellent understanding of various UX tools, methods and usability practices
- Proficiency in Figma
- Strong UI design skills
- Experience with design systems or component libraries
- Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Experience in user research activities
- Pedagogical understanding
- Knowledge of designing accessible and inclusive digital products
