Backed by a passionate leadership team and a growing technology function, we’re looking for a Head of Software to lead a talented engineering group delivering the platforms, apps and services that power the EV revolution.

🧑 💻 The Role: Head of Software

We’re seeking a collaborative, high-energy engineering leader to head up our software teams. This is a transformative position with real impact across the business.

You will:

• Lead and mentor three cross-functional teams (Driver Experience, Partner Experience, Platform) totalling 9–10 engineers.
• Build a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the software group.
• Partner closely with product, operations and other departments to deliver consumer-focused improvements and business-critical features.
• Drive initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency and AI-driven predictive maintenance.
• Enhance our driver app experience and expand features in line with a maturing EV market.
• Navigate regulatory changes and ensure software strategy supports the company’s long-term growth.

💡 What We’re Looking For

We’re interested in candidates who combine technical depth with leadership excellence:

• A proven engineering leader with a track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience in product thinking and a business-wide perspective beyond engineering.
• Exceptional communication skills, able to influence across departments and at board level.
• A coach and mentor who can develop the next generation of technical leaders.
• Comfortable balancing strategy with hands-on decision-making in a scale-up environment.
• Ruby on Rails experience helpful but not essential.
• Based within commuting distance of London – 3 days/week in-office required as we transition to a more collaborative culture.
