Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite/week)

Are you a hands-on Network Engineer who thrives in hybrid environments and wants to support a mission-driven institution in the heart of Boston? This is a key role supporting the wired and wireless infrastructure for a major university — with additional responsibilities supporting a nearby college (with stipend).
You’ll join a tight-knit IT team focused on delivering seamless, secure, and scalable network services to students, faculty, and staff.
What You’ll Do- Manage and maintain wired and wireless network infrastructure across multiple campuses
- Install, configure, and support equipment from Extreme Networks, Aruba, Juniper, F5, and Ivanti
- Administer LAN, WAN, VoIP, VPN, Internet, and BGP protocols
- Troubleshoot performance issues and implement proactive solutions
- Collaborate with IT peers to ensure stability and integration across systems
- Maintain network documentation and enforce security standards
- Keep current with evolving networking technologies and best practices
- 4+ years of hands-on network engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of Extreme Networks, Aruba, and Juniper gear
- Solid grasp of networking fundamentals: LAN, WAN, VoIP, BGP, and VPN
- Experience supporting large, distributed environments (higher ed is a plus!)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Familiarity with F5 and Ivanti tools
- Prior experience in a college or university setting
- Ability to create and manage clear network documentation
- Local candidates only — must be able to be onsite 3 days/week
- No visa sponsorship available
