Network Engineer - Brussels

Responsibilities

• Optimise, implement and monitor secure network infrastructures using Cisco technologies (routers, switches, load balancers).
• Configure, troubleshoot and optimize data centre networks with protocols such as EVPN/VXLAN, MPLS, BGP and OSPF.
• Deploy and maintain firewall policies and packet filtering solutions, primarily with Fortinet products.
• Provide advanced support (2nd/3rd line) to resolve complex network and security issues for customers across sectors.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver scalable, reliable and mission-critical solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by adopting new technologies and ensuring best practices in IP/Security integration.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in routing and switching (Cisco), with hands-on experience in EVPN/VXLAN, MPLS, BGP and OSPF.
• Proficiency in firewall configuration and packet filtering, ideally with Fortinet technologies.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues, providing effective 2nd/3rd line support.
• Proactive and logical problem-solver, with a strong interest in adopting and learning new technologies.
• Well-organised and self-motivated, with excellent communication skills and fluency in Dutch.
• Relevant qualifications, such as an engineering degree and/or CCNA certification, plus a valid driving licence.
