Job Description:
Aon is seeking a dedicated and experienced Credit Controller to join our finance team in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing credit and collections processes, ensuring timely payments from clients and insurers, and supporting the financial stability of the business. This is a full-time, onsite position, ideal for a mid-senior level professional with a strong background in insurance or a related field.
What the Day Will Look Like:
- Focus primarily on credit collection activities and serve as the main contact for all matters related to the collection of receivables.
- Perform reconciliations with clients and insurers to ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables.
- Send statements of account to clients and insurers, including commission receivables.
- Liaise with internal departments to resolve queries related to transactions.
- Coordinate with internal departments and insurance companies to arrange collection of outstanding premiums and commissions.
- Respond promptly to client requests for missing invoices.
- Assist in the preparation of ageing and related credit control reports.
- Carry out allocation and matching of settlements based on details provided by internal departments, insurance companies, or clients.
- Support in identifying credit risk and doubtful debts.
- Ensure all required reports are provided within the deadlines set.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable, ensuring prompt collection of outstanding invoices.
- Assess client creditworthiness and set appropriate credit limits in accordance with company policies.
- Prepare and present regular reports on debtor balances, cash flow, and collection performance to management.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve disputes and strengthen customer relationships.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support month-end closing activities and assist with audits as required.
- Continuously review and enhance credit control procedures to optimize cash flow and minimize risk.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in insurance or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills – Including ESL English
- Strong time management abilities.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
