We are looking for a commercially-minded claims leader who can combine strategic thinking, complex claims expertise, and transformation capability to elevate our claims proposition for our corporate clients.
This is a newly created senior leadership role which offers a rare opportunity to build and shape a market-leading claims strategy and transformation function within our growing business.
About the Job:
Claims Transformation and Modernisation
- Develop the transformation roadmap with measureable milestones. Lead and successfully execute end-to-end transformation of claims processes across all retail lines of business.
- Conduct current state assessments and redesign workflows to eliminate inefficiencies.
- Standardize claims handling procedures across corporate risk portfolios.
- Develop and implement KPIs, dashboards, and claims performance frameworks.
- Embed analytics into decision-making, including: Loss trend analysis, Claims lifecycle tracking, leakage identification and predictive modelling opportunities
- Evaluate and implement automation opportunities (workflow automation, document management, AI-assisted triage).
- Develop a structured claims governance framework.
Commercial & Growth Enablement:
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to develop and articulate clear claims value propositions that support business growth, client retention, and acquisition strategies. This includes contributing to RFP responses, client presentations, and finalist meetings by translating claims capability into clear commercial and client-relevant narratives.
Escalation Contact for Corporate Risk Claims:
- Act as senior escalation point for complex, high-value or contentious corporate risk claims. You will provide strategic oversight on issues including coverage interpretation, business interruption, large loss negotiations, insurer disputes and multi-jurisdictional claims.
- Support the advocacy team in structuring claims strategies for catastrophic or systemic losses
- Maintain senior relationships with key insurer claims leaders
- Provide governance oversight to ensure consistency in claims handling standards.
- Conduct post-loss reviews and derive lessons learned to improve future outcomes.
Claims Handling Portal Development:
- Lead the design and implementation of a sophisticated claims handling portal.
- Define functional requirements including: Real-time claims tracking, Document upload and management, Secure client access, Status dashboards, Data visualization and reporting
- Partner with IT, product, and external vendors to ensure scalable architecture.
- Oversee UX/UI considerations to ensure intuitive client experience.
- Develop rollout strategy, client onboarding plan, and adoption framework.
- Continuously enhance portal functionality based on client feedback and analytics insights.
Requirements:
- 12-15+ years in General Insurance claims, corporate risk or brokerage claims leadership, with demonstrated experience in handling complex and large-loss corporate claims
- Proven track record in developing and successfully executing transformation roadmaps and change initiatives.
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and the ability to operate across both strategic and hands-on execution.
- Possess executive presence with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Highly analytical and data-driven, with a focus on using insights to drive decisions and outcomes.
- Influential negotiator with strong credibility in the insurer and broader market.
