Position Overview:

The Human Resource Generalist performs duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, performance & talent management, affirmative action and employment law compliance. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The generalist must be capable of balancing corporate needs & goals with employee goodwill and stewardship. In addition, the position works closely with the HRBP in developing, implementing and evaluating ongoing HR policies, programs, functions and activities.


Responsibilities:

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains all policy and procedure documents.
  • Counsels and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.
  • Handles employee relations counseling, and exit interviewing.
  • Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner (i.e., three months, six months, one year and yearly thereafter).
  • Assists managers with performance and talent management issues and initiatives.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action.
  • Acts as an employee relations specialist.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-4 years’ experience, preferred
  • Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence and persuade across all levels of the organization, exercising a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, poise, tact and diplomacy to accomplish objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas and to summarize complex issues.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential material along with sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Work productively in an environment with high levels of interruption.
  • Human resource experience in this industry preferred.
  • Must be proficient in the German and English language.
  • Must be willing to commute to office location in Hechingen 3 days per week.
