A prestigious federal government entity is seeking a visionary Emirati Head of Cybersecurity to lead its national cybersecurity agenda. This role offers Emirati professionals the chance to develop strategic plans, oversee critical operations, and ensure the highest standards of cyber resilience across systems of national importance. As the leader of this vital function, you will provide overall cybersecurity direction, safeguard digital infrastructure, and contribute directly to shaping the UAE’s secure digital future.


General Job Purpose:

Develop plans and work mechanisms for the unit and contribute to achieving its objectives by supervising all tasks and operations, providing overall cybersecurity support, and ensuring proper implementation of cybersecurity procedures.


Qualifications and Experience:

• PhD in Information Technology with at least 1 year of experience.

• Master’s in information technology with at least 4 years of experience.

• Bachelor’s in information technology with at least 12 years of experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum): Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Master’s degree (preferred): Cybersecurity, Information Security, or Business Administration (MBA with IT/Cyber focus).


Professional Certifications:

Includes certifications such as Oracle 12c Administration, Hyperledger Fabric, PowerShell Automation, Cybersecurity Fundamentals, Microsoft 365/Azure, Database Management, Artificial Intelligence for Business Professionals, Java EE, SQL Data Warehousing, ISO/IEC 27002, Certified AI Practitioner, ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor, Certified Information Privacy Manager, and IoT certifications.


Key Responsibilities:

• Manage information security incidents in accordance with approved standards, coordinating with relevant entities.

• Direct unit operations and take responsibility for all processes.

• Prepare operational plans to achieve short-term goals.

• Develop and implement information security awareness programs for all organizational units.

• Develop awareness programs for system users inside and outside the entity.

• Review progress reports and evaluate staff performance.

• Establish and manage the Information Security Operations Center.

• Report violations and incidents to the Minister.

• Negotiate with internal stakeholders to establish effective partnerships.

• Monitor performance indicators and propose improvements.

• Motivate team members to ensure efficiency and quality service.

• Apply functional guidelines and review unit processes periodically.

• Develop governance frameworks, policies, and procedures in line with the Cyber Security Council.

• Introduce new procedures to improve policy application and reduce costs.

• Activate monitoring systems to ensure the ministry’s IT systems’ safety.

• Provide support to direct supervisor and carry out assigned tasks.

• Assess infrastructure resilience against threats and cyberattacks.

• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and policies.

• Perform additional duties assigned by the Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services.
