- Pay Rate: $48.87 - $57.32 per hour
- Shift/Hours: First Shift (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM), Second Shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM)
The Network Engineer will support IT infrastructure modernization by upgrading, configuring, and troubleshooting complex Cisco-based network environments across 151+ sites. This role requires hands-on expertise with Layer 2 switches, wireless controllers, and routing protocols, along with field work, including site surveys and installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or assist with network upgrades at customer sites
- Apply software updates/configurations on Cisco routers and switches
- Conduct quality assurance tests and support infrastructure migration
- Troubleshoot wired/wireless network issues on-site
- Perform and document site surveys
- Create detailed technical documentation and reports
- Supervise and coordinate union labor teams when required
- Active CCNA certification
- Hands-on field experience with Cisco switches, routers, and wireless controllers
- Proven track record with network troubleshooting and protocol management
- Comfortable working onsite across various customer locations
- Previous supervisory experience preferred but not mandatory
- Union, hospital, or school district project experience
- Construction or large-scale deployment background
- Experience working with fiber optic infrastructure (10G)
- Active/current proof of CCNA
- Proficient in Cisco Layer 2/3 networking, routing/switching
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, DHCP, DNS)
- Familiarity with Cisco wireless systems
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and use ladders up to 8'
- Cisco Catalyst 9K & ISR router experience
- Cisco IOS / IOS-XE
- VLANs, 802.1q, inter-VLAN routing, STP, VTP, DTP
- Familiarity with ScienceLogic, Labtech, SolarWinds
- Experience with Cisco and Alcatel switches, Palo Alto firewalls
- Knowledge of network printing hardware setups
