SVP Software Engineering


Location: Abu Dhabi

Duration: Permanent

Package: $18,000 -$20,000 per month, TAX FREE + Relocation


We’re seeking a visionary engineering leader to shape and steer the technical direction of our clients organisation. You’ll be responsible for evolving the software engineering capabilities, driving modern development practices, and ensuring their platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with strategic business goals. This is a high-impact leadership role with influence across architecture, delivery, innovation, and people development.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and scale the engineering organisation across multiple product and platform domains, ensuring consistent delivery of high-performance and secure technology.
  • Work closely with enterprise architecture and product leadership to harmonise technical solutions with long-term business vision.
  • Introduce and embed cutting-edge engineering practices such as CI/CD, cloud-native frameworks, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and forward-thinking engineering culture that fosters innovation, autonomy, and continuous learning.
  • Oversee the rollout of engineering standards, tooling strategies, and quality benchmarks across teams.
  • Align engineering operations with security, compliance, and reliability goals to ensure systems run safely and at scale.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of new features, products, and enhancements.
  • Track engineering performance through actionable KPIs-code quality, release velocity, uptime, incident rates, and more.
  • Nurture talent within the engineering function through structured mentoring, coaching, and clear career progression frameworks.
  • Champion agile methodologies and modern DevOps principles to embed efficiency and adaptability into our development cycles.
  • Contribute to hiring strategy, onboarding programs, and employee engagement initiatives to attract and retain top-tier technical talent.


Qualifications & skills:

  • Demonstrated success leading large, distributed engineering teams across complex technology environments.
  • 10+ years in a similar leadership position
  • Strong expertise in agile delivery models, DevSecOps practices, and continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Deep experience with cloud-native technologies including container orchestration, microservices architecture, and leading platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Track record of aligning engineering execution with architectural roadmaps and enterprise-level priorities.
  • Proven ability to scale engineering maturity through process improvement, tooling enhancement, and technical coaching.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from technical contributors to business leaders.
