Job Description for Network Support Engineer:
The 1st Line Network Engineer will be expected to work through helpdesk tickets and will be expected to go out on site to visit clients.
Need to thrive on multi-tasking as they complete tasks like installing / maintaining servers (virtual and physical), supporting workstations, resolving OS and application faults as well as identifying and resolving network connectivity issues.
Installation/Configuration of Routers and Switches. Ensuring SLAs are not breached
Trouble shooting and resolve network base problems for customers or Troubleshooting circuit faults and working with carriers to achieve fault resolution.
Handling customer enquiries and support issues using a ticketing system
Proactive network monitoring of alarms via monitoring tools
Ensuring SLAs are not breached
Escalation of faults/outages, taking action to restore services.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or IT related field or Networking is preferred.
Other Skills:
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Desktops
• Awareness of networking principles and technologies
• Excellent communication skills
• High level of customer service
• General networking, TCP/IP principles & DNS knowledge
• Flexible approach to work with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Certification:
• CCNA
• CISCO
• CCNP
