Job Description

As a Full Stack Developer, you will be joining a scrum team of developers, business analysts, product managers and QA engineers who have been developing and owning the leading end-to-end platform for Life Insurance Underwriting.

Many Of The Things You Develop Will Be The First Of Their Nature Within The Industry. Your Job Will Require You To Work Closely With Your Fellow Technology Team Members, To Coordinate With QA Resources, And To Communicate With Business Team Members In Completion Of Your Work. Working With Other Developers You Might Work On Items Such As

  • Creating workflow tools for routing insurance applications.
  • Developing components for algorithmic or manual underwriting modules.
  • Expanding our policy administration platform, including complex workflow definitions, financial calculations, and core processing logic.
  • Defining and applying rule sets for third party data integrations.
  • Building advisor and customer facing components for taking new business applications.
  • Building tools for platform configurations to be able to configure the platform.

  • Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex problems and solutions to people inside and outside their domain of expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, write, and edit technical and process documentation.
  • Experience with Java and TypeScript/JavaScript as programming languages, NodeJS, and React framework.
  • A demonstrable experience in building modern, complex customer-facing web applications.
  • Exposure to modern MVC (Model-view-controller) frameworks.
  • Solid grounding in data driven applications and concepts (data/object modeling, database systems).
  • Experience GitHub for version control, collaborative development and code review workflows.
  • Experience with Jenkins for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) automation.
  • Experience with Microservice architecture for designing, developing and deploying modular and scalable applications.
  • Experience with REST APIs for designing, developing, and integrating scalable and maintainable web services.
  • Experience with MS SQL and PostgreSQL for designing, querying, and optimizing relational databases.
  • Experience with Docker for building, packaging, and deploying containerized applications.
  • Experience with Kubernetes for orchestrating, scaling, and managing containerized workloads.
  • Experience with Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) for running Kubernetes clusters in a managed cloud environment.
  • Familiarity with data caching and in-memory databases like Redis.
  • Experience with Kafka for integrating data producers and consumers in scalable systems.
  • Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC), enabling automated provisioning and management of cloud resources.
  • Experience with OAuth for implementing secure authentication and authorization in distributed systems and applications.
  • Comfortable expressing unique points of view while respecting the views of others.
  • Experience delivering unit tests along with new functionality.
  • Experience and familiarity with financial services or other mathematically oriented applications.
  • Working in a startup or agile development environments.
  • Experience in multi-platform websites (desktop, mobile).
  • Offers constructive feedback on areas of broader scope.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields.
