Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the analysis and evaluation of emerging fund managers and independent sponsors, focusing on the underlying portfolio companies and strategies.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to assess investment opportunities, including forecasting cash flows, conducting sensitivity analysis, and valuation exercises.
- Conduct deep dives into specific industries or markets to identify growth trends, potential risks, and opportunities. Analyze comparable transactions to inform investment decisions.
- Support the team in conducting comprehensive due diligence on fund managers, investment strategies, and portfolio companies, covering financial, operational, and market factors.
- Prepare high-quality investment memos and presentations for the investment committee, summarizing key insights, risks, and recommendations.
- Assist in the tracking and reporting of portfolio performance, helping to identify areas for operational improvement or strategic value creation.
- Support the investment team in structuring transactions, evaluating investment terms, and collaborating with legal teams during the deal execution process.
- Assist in building and maintaining relationships with emerging fund managers, independent sponsors, and industry partners.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, management consulting, or a similar financial role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and market trends.
- Advanced Excel skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
- Knowledge or interest in private equity strategies, particularly buy-and-build, growth investing, and emerging managers.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex investment theses clearly and concisely.
- A proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong academic background with a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are a plus.
