Director – Security Technology & Engineering – APAC
DP World is seeking a technically strong, solutions-driven Regional Security Technology & Engineering Lead to drive the delivery and optimization of electronic security systems across its Asia Pacific operations. This in-house position is based in Singapore and supports a diverse portfolio spanning sea, river, and rail container terminals; passenger terminals; contract logistics (warehousing and distribution centres); and corporate offices.
The successful candidate will serve as the regional expert in electronic physical security, overseeing system design, deployment, integration, and performance across the portfolio. You will work closely with site security teams, regional security, governance and IT teams, Procurement, Engineering and Global Security Technology to ensure system integrity, cyber-resilience, and alignment with DP World standards.
Key Accountabilities
System Design & Project Delivery
- Lead the technical design and regional implementation of integrated security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, perimeter security, vehicle management systems, and ANPR
- Support capital and operational projects across the region—ranging from greenfield port terminals to warehouse expansions and office relocations
- Supervise regional systems integrators and ensure adherence to technical specifications, deployment schedules, and HSSE protocols
- Ensure interoperability between legacy and new systems in line with DP World architecture and information security standards
Standards, Compliance & Quality
- Maintain and enforce DP World’s security system standards across all installations, ensuring alignment with:
- Group & Regional Security and Technology specifications
- ISPS Code (for maritime terminals)
- TAPA (for logistics and warehousing)
- ISO 27001, and IEC 62443
- Conduct quality assurance, site acceptance testing (SAT), and technical audits to validate system performance and installation quality
- Maintain documentation such as system schematics, configuration registers, and commissioning reports
Stakeholder & Vendor Engagement
- Collaborate with site-based Heads of Security, IT, Operations and Project Managers to understand operational risks and translate them into technical specifications
- Support procurement teams in evaluating vendors, reviewing technical submissions, and verifying compliance during tender processes
- Act as the interface between Regional Security Technology, IT, and external partners to coordinate integration and upgrade roadmaps
Lifecycle Management & Support
- Track and plan for asset lifecycles including upgrades, obsolescence, firmware/security patching, and warranty renewals
- Monitor performance of contracted service providers to ensure SLAs and KPIs are met
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., AI video analytics, drone-in-a-box, radar, command centre solutions) for use cases in DP World’s operational environments
- Recommend standardization opportunities to reduce complexity and enhance scalability and supportability across the portfolio
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor Degree in Electronic Engineering, Security Technology or equivalent
- Professional certification such as PSP (ASIS), CSPM, PMP or vendor certifications such as Genetec, Axis, Bosch, Milestone or equivalent will be a plus
- At least 10-15 years of working experience of which consists of 5 years’ experience in Security systems integration, with regional or multi-site responsibilities
- Strong Security design experience in managing large scale projects such as at Logistics warehouse, Ports and Terminals for greenfield and brownfield projects
- Relevant experience in delivering integrated solutions in port terminals, logistics, or large-scale industrial environments will be a plus
- Experience working with Cloud-based or hybrid security platforms, AI analytics, or industrial surveillance drones
- Experience in Greenfield/brownfield upgrade projects and legacy system migration
- Deep knowledge of IP-based surveillance (e.g., Genetec, Milestone), access control platforms, perimeter technologies, and physical security integration
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles for OT/IoT systems and alignment with ISO 27001 or IEC 62443
- Familiarity with ISPS Code, TAPA, and local licensing regulations in multiple APAC jurisdictions
