Junior Software Engineer

The Opportunity

Founded in the late 90’s, our client has become one of the most successful language service providers around the country which supplies top-end translation and interpreting services throughout the private and public sector. Not only do they offer support in over 400 languages, but they are also growing rapidly, aiming to double their tech team in the next year. Here you would be around a wide variety of technologies as well as using it for the greater good, working towards business goals to reduce language barriers and enhancing equality nationwide.

The What?

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on delivering innovative software solutions that support a new replatforming our our clients core language services platform. You will collaborate with senior developers to design, build, and maintain scalable applications, while gaining hands-on experience with modern technologies and development practices. Your role will involve writing clean, efficient code, debugging issues, and ensuring software quality through testing and code reviews. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to develop their technical skills and contribute to the growth of a leading language service provider, while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Our client is looking for a couple of Junior Software Engineers ideally with domain experience within the telecom industry!

The ideal candidate has:

• At least one year of commercial experience within software development or software engineering.

• Preferably experience with Python & Javascript

• SQL skills

• Knowledge of utilising SCM & CI/CD tools such as Git, Github Actions, Gitlab Pipeline

• Experience working within an Agile enviornment & has a grasp of Agile processes.

• Cloud experience (AWS/Azure).

• Existing experience of building software for telephony system would be highly beneficial!

WORKING PATTERN:

Our Client is based South Manchester and operates a 4 days a week onsite.
