Job Description

As a Network Management and Optimization Engineer at Nokia, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of digital radio networks. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to perform fault analysis, maintain MSOs and DCS gateways, and implement system configurations. Your work will directly impact customer satisfaction, reinforcing Nokia’s reputation as a reliable partner. The environment is dynamic and collaborative, where you will engage in continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing state-of-the-art tools for network monitoring and fault detection. You can expect to tackle significant challenges daily, contributing to the success of customers and internal stakeholders. Supporting both Level 1 and the escalation processes, you will be critical in resolving technical issues, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring stable network performance. Your contributions will shape the future of telecommunications, creating meaningful connections in a fast-paced and evolving industry.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

  • Conduct fault analysis and implement rectification on MSOs (Multiple System Operators) and DCS (Digital Communication System) gateways to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Perform regular maintenance and servicing of gateways, including data backups and system configurations aligned with operator agreements.
  • Review and implement information sheets and software service support, ensuring seamless operation and adherence to KPIs.
  • Create and manage new base stations, facilitating data acquisition and maintaining effective communication with Support Level 1 and operators.
  • Lead alarm handling support in Netcool, processing fault tickets and escalating issues to the system manufacturer as needed.
  • Generate performance analysis reports and participate in system change processes to drive ongoing improvements.
  • Ensure 24/7 availability of the Support Level 2 emergency service, maintaining robust user and authorization management for all management systems.
  • Foster collaboration with internal teams and external regional authorities to enhance customer satisfaction and establish Nokia as a trusted partner.

Key Skills And Experience

  • Technical education in electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering, or information technology
  • Several years of professional experience in a telecommunications company
  • Knowledge in the field of mobile communication (mobile radio networks) or network knowledge
  • IT skills: Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Office, and basic knowledge of Linux or Unix (command line)
  • Fluent German (written and spoken)
  • Ability to work in a team and address customer problems
  • Willingness to travel within Austria and partly abroad
  • Austrian Security clearance mandatory

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Knowledge of tools: Remedy, Netcool, etc.
  • Technical English proficiency
  • Driving license group B
  • A high degree of flexibility in dealing with various tasks
