About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Java Backend Developer to join a fast-paced, agile team at a leading fintech company. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with backend development and capable of contributing to the architecture, design, and delivery of scalable microservices and cloud-native applications.

This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in acollaborative environment. The position offers flexibility with remote work within Sweden and preference will be given to candidates based in or near Stockholm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performing backend
• services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Implement microservices architecture and integrate systems using RESTful
• APIs and messaging platforms like Kafka.
• Work on cloud-based deployment using AWS, with containerization via
• Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Write robust unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps and other engineering teams for CI/CD and production releases using tools like Git, Maven, Jenkins, etc.
• Participate in technical design discussions and help drive technical
• decisions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in code quality, testing, and
• automation.
• Engage in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing across the
• team.
• Perform live coding during the interview as part of the selection

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience in Java backend development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of Microservices architecture and REST APIs.
• Production-level experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Experience working with messaging systems like Kafka.
• Proficient in writing automated tests using JUnit and Mockito.
• Familiarity with build and version control tools: Maven, Git, Jenkins.
• Experience working in agile development teams.
• Comfortable working in remote/distributed team environments.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in the fintech or financial services domain.
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Based in or near Stockholm, though not mandatory.
