Your Role

You will be a part of our first wave of technical hires, working closely with your team and the founding team to develop and enhance our mobile and watch applications for wearable devices. You’ll be at the forefront of creating the interface athletes and coaches rely on to improve their training. You’ll have significant influence in shaping how athletes interact with real-time data, creating an intuitive user experience that brings together performance insights and seamless wireless connectivity.

• Mobile App Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain mobile applications for iOS and Android, ensuring seamless connectivity with wearable devices such as smartwatches and sensors to deliver real-time data insights.
• UX Design & Implementation: Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that provide real-time feedback and actionable insights, tailored to both athletes and coaches.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize app performance, especially in data-intensive environments, ensuring minimal latency and a smooth user experience.
• Cross-Platform Integration: Ensure seamless integration with various smartwatches (Garmin, Apple Watch) and mobile platforms, maintaining reliable wireless connections and smooth data flows.
• Collaboration: Work closely with backend engineers, data scientists, and sports professionals to ensure the app meets the real-world needs of athletes and coaches.

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in mobile app development and deployment or equivalent.
• Proven experience developing mobile apps for iOS and Android using frameworks like React Native, Swift, or Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience developing and coding apps directly for smartwatches.
• Expertise in frontend development, focusing on seamless, user-friendly mobile experiences.
• Experience deploying mobile apps, including knowledge of app store requirements, CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving wireless connectivity and app performance issues.
• Proficiency in version control tools like Git
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with experience working in a dynamic startup environment.
• A passion for building impactful, data-driven solutions that empower athletes.
• Working knowledge of English (minimum B2 equivalent)

You’ll Stand Out If You

• A background in one or more of the following sports: figure skating, ice hockey, speed skating, skateboarding, roller skating, freestyle skiing, or snowboarding.
• Experience with UX/UI design, particularly in sports or fitness apps that focus on real-time feedback and simplicity.
• Knowledge of sports performance tracking and data visualization to provide actionable insights.
• Prior experience in the sports or fitness tech industry, giving you an understanding of its challenges and opportunities.
• Expertise in wireless technologies, especially Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and other protocols used in wearables.
• Experience with gamification techniques to boost user engagement and motivation in sports or fitness apps.
• Familiarity with Agile or Lean development environments.
• Experience working in startups.
