Location: Muscat, Oman

Contract: 8 months core project + optional 12-month operational phase

The Data Governance and Compliance Expert will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of data governance frameworks and compliance standards for the Supreme Judiciary Council. The role ensures data management best practices align with DAMA principles, supports data policy formulation, compliance audits, metadata management, and staff training.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with data management, privacy, and protection regulations.
• Establish a data stewardship framework and oversee metadata management.
• Conduct data audits and compliance assessments.
• Provide guidance on data classification, access control, and data lifecycle management.
• Support implementation of DAMA DMBOK-aligned practices.
• Deliver training and awareness programs on data governance and compliance.
• Collaborate with IT, Legal, and Business teams to enforce governance
• Prepare regular reports for management and audit committees.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of data management maturity.

Requirements

Minimum Education Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or related field

Preferred Qualification(s)

Professional Certifications / Licenses DAMA International Certification (CDMP –mandatory)

Minimum 10 years experience

Relevant Industry Experience - Data governance, data quality, and compliance management

Technical / Functional Skills
