Job Description

  • Duration: Preferably 6 months / flexible
  • Location: Oulu, Finland
  • Educational recommendations: Academic background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar.

As a Software Engineer trainee at Nokia you will be part of the MN RAN team and you’ll contribute to developing Layer 1 (L1) software for Distributed Units (DU) and Radio Units (RU) used in cutting-edge 5G networks. Working in an agile Scrum team in Oulu and collaborating with multi-site virtual teams, you’ll gain hands-on experience in embedded software development, system integration, and automation tools. How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

  • Develop RL1 software in two-week sprints with your Scrum team
  • Analyze requirements and design solutions for new features and improvements
  • Plan work, estimate effort, and support sprint goals
  • Implement functionalities and test to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Collaborate in a supportive team environment while gaining hands-on software development experience

Key Skills And Experience

You have:

  • Fluent English, great communication skills
  • Active student status for the entire duration of the internship
  • Knowledge or some experience in C++ OR Python

It would be nice if you also had:

Understanding in

  • Linux environment and bash scripts
  • 4G/5G and its protocols stack in especially physical layer
  • GIT, CI, version control tools, cloud technologies, agile methods, test automation, continuous delivery
