Position Details:

Title: Senior Network Engineer

Department: Information Technology Department

Section: Infrastructure Section

Reports To: Head of Infrastructure Section

Location: Dubai


Salary Offered: AED 13K - AED 17K only.


Job Purpose:

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing the entity's network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity across all entity sites. The role requires a proactive and technically skilled engineer capable of supporting mission-critical systems, maintaining compliance with UAE federal cybersecurity standards, and driving innovation in the entity's digital infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and design network infrastructure improvements for scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Install, configure, and manage routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Monitor network performance using SNMP, NetFlow, and OPManager tools ensuring uptime ≥ 99.9%.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity, performance, and security issues.
  • Implement network security measures aligned with ISO 27001 and UAE Cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Lead migration projects including SD-WAN and cloud-based networking.
  • Maintain documentation for network configurations, performance reports, and incident logs.
  • Assist in planning and executing IT infrastructure projects with defined budgets and timelines.


Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent (mandatory).
  • Preferred: CCIE, JNCIP, CISSP, AWS Advanced Networking or Azure Network Engineer Associate.


Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise-level network design and management.
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Aruba solutions.
  • Hands-on experience integrating cloud or hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, FedNet).


Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, MPLS, VPNs, and QoS.
  • Expertise in firewall management, load balancing, and network access control.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, OPManager, PRTG, Nagios).
  • Knowledge of automation tools (Python, Ansible) is an advantage.


Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English required, Arabic a plus).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Attention to detail and strong time management.


Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Network uptime ≥ 99.9%.
  • SLA compliance for incident response and resolution.
  • Zero critical security breaches.
  • Timely completion of project deliverables.
  • Positive stakeholder feedback.


Additional Requirements:

  • On-site presence at entity's facilities.
  • Adherence to confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Successful background verification and security clearance.
