About The Role
This is a founding role, with opportunity to set the engineering direction and shape the architecture from day one.
- Design and build robust backend services and APIs to support model training, inference, and enterprise integrations.
- Architect scalable distributed systems to handle high-throughput workloads.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and performance optimisation across production systems.
- Work closely with research engineers to productionise cutting-edge ML models.
- Take ownership of mission-critical backend components end-to-end.
- MSc/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
- Exceptional software engineering ability with expertise in Python and, Go or Java.
- Experience designing and scaling distributed backend systems.
- Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and cloud infrastructure.
- Track record of building and maintaining high-availability systems in production.
- Proven ability to deliver quickly in ambiguous, high-stakes environments.
