About The Role

This is a founding role, with opportunity to set the engineering direction and shape the architecture from day one.

• Design and build robust backend services and APIs to support model training, inference, and enterprise integrations.
• Architect scalable distributed systems to handle high-throughput workloads.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and performance optimisation across production systems.
• Work closely with research engineers to productionise cutting-edge ML models.
• Take ownership of mission-critical backend components end-to-end.
  
  

Required Experience

• MSc/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Exceptional software engineering ability with expertise in Python and, Go or Java.
• Experience designing and scaling distributed backend systems.
• Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and cloud infrastructure.
• Track record of building and maintaining high-availability systems in production.
• Proven ability to deliver quickly in ambiguous, high-stakes environments.
