Role Overview
An established financial institution is seeking a versatile DevOps Engineer to support its Risk Reporting function. The role involves the design, development, and maintenance of cloud-native data infrastructure to enable high-quality, regulatory-compliant reporting. Operating at the intersection of DevOps, data engineering, and cloud architecture, this position requires expertise across both AWS and Azure platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Data Infrastructure Development
- Build and maintain end-to-end data delivery solutions that ingest, process, and transform data into report-ready formats.
- Translate business data requirements into scalable technical architectures.
- Ensure high reliability, performance, and security of data pipelines.
Cloud Engineering & Infrastructure Management
- Design and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM, and CloudFormation.
- Configure and manage networking, access controls, and security features across AWS and Azure.
- Optimize infrastructure to support data processing and regulatory reporting workloads.
DevOps & Automation
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for both data and infrastructure deployments using tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Automate deployment, testing, monitoring, and operational processes.
- Implement comprehensive observability, logging, and alerting systems.
Collaboration & Governance
- Engage with cross-functional teams including developers, architects, and business stakeholders to align solutions with business needs.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain clear documentation of system architecture, processes, and best practices.
Candidate Profile
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in both AWS (e.g., S3, Glue, IAM, Lambda, VPC) and Azure (e.g., Data Factory, Synapse, Key Vault, VNets, NSGs).
- Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools: Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, CloudFormation.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines, particularly Azure DevOps.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Familiarity with data transformation frameworks (e.g., dbt, PySpark, SQL).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Databricks.
- Understanding of data modeling and data warehouse design principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in financial services, risk, or regulatory reporting.
- Industry-recognized certifications in AWS and/or Azure (e.g., AWS Data Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer).
- Experience with multi-cloud environments or cloud migration initiatives.
