About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior iOS Developer to join our dynamic technology team at Capital One. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our mobile applications, primarily focusing on iOS platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including UX/UI designers, product managers, quality engineers, and fellow developers to deliver seamless, engaging, and high-performance mobile experiences. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of digital transformation within the financial services industry, utilizing the latest Apple technologies and frameworks to create innovative solutions for our customers. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background and extensive experience in mobile application development. A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of professional experience in software engineering, specifically with at least two years dedicated to building iOS applications. Proficiency in Swift is essential, with a solid understanding of Apple’s development ecosystem and best practices. Experience with open source frameworks, agile methodologies, and a demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives are highly preferred. Candidates should also possess excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality iOS client code solutions aligned with product strategy and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including UX/UI designers, product owners, and quality engineers to deliver engaging and purposeful user experiences.
- Participate actively in all agile ceremonies, ensuring timely delivery of features and high standards of quality.
- Advocate for the mobile platform within internal and external developer communities by sharing expertise and best practices.
- Stay current with the latest mobile development technologies, including Swift, Kotlin, and third-party libraries, to continuously improve skills and project outcomes.
- Influence technical discussions, contribute innovative ideas, and incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior to mid-level developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth.
- Engage with developers across disciplines such as Android, APIs, Web, and more to ensure cohesive platform development.
- Lead the delivery of major components and platform needs in partnership with senior engineers and architects.
- Review pull requests, ensure adherence to coding standards, and promote best practices in Swift and other relevant languages.
- Identify potential technical obstacles early and work collaboratively to develop creative and effective solutions.
- Contribute to process improvements, share best practices, and help shape the technical direction of the team.
