Role: Cybersecurity Governance Specialist
Location: Brussels
Contract Type: 3 months contract + extension
We are seeking a Cybersecurity Governance Specialist to join our client that is in the public sector in Brussels. This role is a 3 months contract position + extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and enhance cybersecurity governance frameworks, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate cyber risk management processes in the context of enterprise risk appetite and internal control frameworks.
- Support the development and maintenance of cybersecurity governance documents, focusing on domains such as cloud computing, communications security, and source code transparency.
- Contribute to the advancement of cybersecurity measures including zero-trust principles, secure communications, and inter-entity risk analyses.
- Define and track key risk indicators (KRIs) to strengthen proactive risk monitoring and reporting.
- Provide expert advice on compliance with cybersecurity standards and regulations.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement across cybersecurity governance practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of strategic cybersecurity governance and advanced risk management practices.
- Proven experience in Cybersecurity and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC).
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and ITSRM methodology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Recognized certification in Cybersecurity and/or Risk Management (mandatory).
