Location: 2 days Tour & Taxis - Brussels

Remote: 3 days

Seniority: a minimum of 3 to 5 years of Scala Development

Experience in (must have): Scala Development - Apache Spark

Language: English (Dutch would be great)

Comment: Contract for 18 months

looking for a talented Data Scientist/Engineer with a passion for data and technology.

As part of our team, you will play a key role in developing advanced data models and solutions that enable companies to gain deep insights from business intelligence.

You will work on developing and improving our machine learning models, with a strong focus on NLP (Natural Language Processing) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to structure and enrich business data. You will use your knowledge of data engineering and science to build powerful, scalable solutions using technologies such as Scala and Apache Spark.

Your responsibilities:

• Develop machine learning and NLP solutions to analyse, structure and enrich customer enterprise data.
• Contribute to the development of Openthebox by building scalable and efficient data pipelines, including data integration, processing and storage, using Apache Spark and Scala.
• Design and implement smart search solutions that provide our users with accurate, actionable business information.
• Collaborate with the product and engineering team to develop new features and make data insights accessible to end users.
• Optimise our machine learning models for better business data processing and analysis.
• Research and implement cutting-edge technologies such as LLMs to further innovate Open the box.

Your profile:

• You have an in-depth knowledge of NLP and Large Language Models, and experience in training and implementing these technologies.
• Experience with Scala and Apache Spark is required. Knowledge of Python is a plus.
• You have experience designing scalable data solutions and building robust data models.
• You have an affinity for business data and know how to use it effectively to generate valuable insights.
• You are results-oriented, analytically strong and able to turn complex problems into scalable solutions. And you are a team player and communicate fluently on technical and non-technical matters.
