The Chevron Business Support Center (BASSC) located in Buenos Aires (Puerto Madero), Argentina, is accepting online applications for the position Software Engineer. Successful candidates will join the team which is part of a successful multifunction service center with a workforce of more than 1800 employees delivering business services and solutions across the globe.
The Web Developer role (Full-Stack) involves developing, testing, and maintaining full-stack web applications using Angular and .NET Core, among other modern frameworks and technologies. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security. The position focuses on delivering responsive, high-quality user experiences across various devices and screen sizes, while also building robust backend services and APIs that support business logic and data operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain responsive websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
- Work closely with designers, other developers, and project managers to translate UI/UX design wireframes into code and ensure that web pages are both functional and visually appealing.
- Assist in integrating front-end components with server-side logic using back-end programming languages and frameworks, such as PHP, Python, Node.js, or C# (.NET Core).
- Build and consume REST APIs using ASP.NET Core, including implementation of HTTP interceptors and authentication/authorization patterns (JWT, OAuth, Azure AD).
- Participate in testing and debugging web applications to ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimal performance.
- Use version control systems, such as Git (preferably Azure DevOps), to collaborate effectively with the development team and manage code versions.
- Help optimize websites for speed, performance, and scalability, following best practices for SEO and web standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation for web development processes, workflows, and code for easy reference and knowledge sharing.
- Work with cloud services (Microsoft Azure), including Azure Functions, App Services, Storage, and Key Vault.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and use tools like Azure Boards for task tracking and collaboration.
- Apply state management solutions (NgRx or equivalent) and performance optimization techniques in Angular applications.
- Use containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments.
- Overall, 2–4 years of experience with 2 years of proven experience in web development, including front-end and back-end development.
- Front-End: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with experience in frameworks/libraries such as Bootstrap, React, or Angular (12+).
- Back-End: Experience with server-side programming languages like PHP, Python, Node.js, and .NET Core / .NET 6+.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs, knowledge of SOAP/XML-based services.
- Familiarity with SQL Server and NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB preferred), including query optimization.
- Experience with Git and branching strategies.
- Ability to create responsive and adaptive designs for different devices and screen sizes.
- Hands-on experience with Azure services and CI/CD pipelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications in web development or related technologies (e.g., Certified JavaScript Developer) are a plus.
- Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla.
- Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js or backend frameworks like Django or Express.
- Experience working in an Agile or Scrum development environment.
- Basic understanding of graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop or Figma for converting designs to HTML.
