Join Unisys as a Senior Software Engineer supporting the EUIPO at the Latvian Intellectual Property Office in Riga.

📍 Location: Partially onsite in Riga

💼 Contract: Freelancer via Unisys, full time (40h/week)

💰 Rate: ~€300/day

About the role

You'll be part of a cross-functional, multidisciplinary, multicultural team working on European Cooperation projects that adapt IP tools and applications to national needs. These tools support the registration and examination of trademarks and designs across Europe.

🌍 Collaborate with:

• Onsite team in the Latvian IPO.
• EUIPO staff.
• Remote experts (Developers, QA, Solution Architect, BAs)

Tech stack & skills

Must-haves:

• Reside in Riga to work partially in the Latvian IPO.
• Be native in Latvian (C2) and have advanced level of English (C1).
• 7+ years in Java development
• Strong in Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices
• Experience with Docker, Redis, MongoDB, CI/CD, Velocity Framework
• Familiarity with Git and TypeScript frameworks (React, VueJS, Angular)
• Waterfall/Agile/Scrum mindsets

Nice-to-haves:

• Cucumber, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins
• Security best practices, SOAP, SQL/NoSQL, Kafka, Sonar, EJBs
