Nestled in between the dramatic backdrop of rugged mountains and the pristine waters of the Sea of Oman, Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa is set on 124 acres of stunning scenery and home to three spectacular hotels: the family orientated Al Waha comprises 262 rooms, the diverse Al Bandar comprises 198 deluxe rooms and the luxurious and most exclusive Al Husn has 180 elegantly appointed guestrooms and suites. The resort also features 22 Food and Beverage outlets, 1,056 sqm ballroom with 8 breakout rooms, wide variety of recreational facilities, and a spa with 12 treatment villas.

The Spa Therapist is responsible for delivering a wide range of spa treatments to guests in a professional, courteous, and personalized manner. The role contributes to guest satisfaction and wellness by providing high-quality service, maintaining treatment standards, and ensuring a relaxing and rejuvenating spa experience.

Key Responsibilities

Treatment Delivery:

  • Perform massage, body, and facial treatments as per established protocols and guest needs.
  • Customize services based on individual guest preferences, health conditions, and expectations.
  • Ensure a calm and therapeutic atmosphere in treatment rooms at all times.

Guest Experience & Communication

  • Welcome guests with warmth and professionalism.
  • Conduct pre-treatment consultations to understand guest preferences and medical history.
  • Recommend suitable treatments, home care products, and wellness advice based on guest needs.
  • Follow up with guests after treatments to ensure satisfaction and build loyalty.

Spa Cleanliness & Setup

  • Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary products, linens, and equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all spa areas.
  • Sanitize tools and equipment according to spa health and safety standards.

Product Knowledge & Promotion

  • Stay updated on all spa services, products, and ongoing promotions.
  • Upsell treatments and retail products to enhance the guest experience and drive revenue.
  • Participate in product and treatment training sessions as required.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Communicate effectively with the spa receptionist and other team members for seamless operations.
  • Report guest feedback, maintenance issues, or supply needs to the Spa Manager.
  • Assist in inventory control by tracking product usage and informing of low stock levels.

Standards & Policies

  • Adhere to company grooming, behavior, and confidentiality standards.
  • Follow all health, safety, and wellness regulations within the spa.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
