Senior AI Engineer (Python / Haystack)

Overview:

We’re working with a leading Digital Transformation Partner supporting a major EU Institution on a long-term AI implementation project. This role involves developing and optimising AI-driven solutions using Python and Haystack to enhance automation, data processing, and overall system intelligence. You’ll join an international, collaborative environment working on cutting-edge AI technologies with long-term stability and growth potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain AI-based solutions using Python and Haystack
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to integrate AI models into business applications
• Optimise performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure scalability of AI components
• Document development processes and contribute to technical best practices

Technical Requirements:

• 8+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience with Haystack or similar AI frameworks
• Solid understanding of LLMs, NLP, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) concepts
• Relevant AI certifications or demonstrable project experience

Contract Details:

Location: Remote/Hybrid - Brussels

Contract Type: 6 months initially, with potential 12+ month extensions

Rate: Flexible day rate, based on experience
