Network Engineer | Financial Services | London, Hybrid
Our client is a global financial services firm with a modern, tech-driven culture.
Their London office is the heartbeat of their global operations, where innovation meets reliability. They’re now looking for a Network Engineer who’s eager to take ownership, solve complex challenges, and help the business evolve as fast as the tech does.
If you’ve built your experience in banking, fintech, or consultancy and want more freedom to design, improve, and experiment, this is the move for you.
The Role
As the Network Engineer, you will join a lean, collaborative infrastructure team supporting critical systems across trading, investment, and corporate networks.
Expect hands-on work, creative input, and real visibility, not endless ticket queues.
What you’ll do:
- Design, configure, and improve a secure, scalable network (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPN, routing, switching).
- Keep the business connected - from trading floors to cloud environments.
- Support voice and video systems (Zoom, Teams, Cisco) that keep global teams collaborating.
- Work alongside systems and cloud engineers to optimise a virtualised environment (VMware, Azure, etc.).
- Get involved in design sessions — your ideas will actually be heard.
- Troubleshoot with confidence, drive uptime, and continuously refine performance and security.
Experience Required:
- Solid networking experience from a mid-sized financial or professional services firm (200–500 users).
- Cisco-centric mindset - CCIE (or working toward it) is a big plus.
- Hands-on with routing, switching, VPN, SD-WAN, segmentation, and firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco ASA).
- Exposure to Zoom/voice systems and virtual networking (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure).
- Curious, collaborative, and ready to grow — you’re not afraid to suggest smarter ways of doing things.
You’ll Fit Right In If
- You want to build and innovate; not just maintain legacy systems.
- You’re detail-driven but not afraid to experiment.
- You thrive in a culture that values autonomy, learning, and balance.
- You want to see a direct impact from your work, not be buried in layers of sign-off.
What’s in It for You
- Competitive salary + benefits.
- A clear path toward senior engineering and architectural roles.
- Exposure to cutting-edge tech within a respected global brand, without the red tape.
- A friendly, modern team culture that blends finance professionalism with tech creativity.
