DevOps Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced DevOps / SysOps / VMware Administrator to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS Cloud, and VMware vSphere, with proven experience in migrating workloads from Windows/Linux environments to containerized platforms.

You will play a key role in automating infrastructure, optimizing system performance, and ensuring high availability across our cloud and on-prem environments.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud Management

• Deploy, manage, and maintain scalable infrastructure on AWS Cloud.
• Engineer multi-cloud environments with focus on high availability and disaster recovery.
• Optimize resource utilization and implement cost management strategies.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and automation frameworks.
• Educate and guide development and operations teams on DevOps best practices.

Container Orchestration & Microservices

• Deploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
• Develop and maintain Helm charts for application deployments.
• Implement container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Manage microservices architecture and service mesh technologies.
• Apply container security best practices and vulnerability scanning procedures.

CI/CD Pipeline Development

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Automate build, test, and deployment processes across multiple environments.
• Implement GitOps workflows and deployment strategies (Blue-Green, Canary, Rolling Updates).
• Integrate automated testing, security scanning, and quality gates into pipelines.

System Administration (Windows/Linux)

• Administer and maintain Windows Server (2019–2025) and Linux systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
• Implement and manage system monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Perform system hardening, patching, and ensure security compliance.
• Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and automation using Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripts.

Monitoring & Observability

• Implement monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Moogsoft, or DataDog.
• Develop and maintain alerting systems and incident response procedures.
• Implement distributed tracing and application performance monitoring.
• Create operational dashboards for proactive system visibility.

Security & Compliance

• Implement DevSecOps principles and security automation.
• Manage secrets management solutions (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault).
• Ensure compliance with industry security standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Define and enforce network security and access control policies.

Required Technical Skills

• Cloud Platforms: 5+ years of experience with AWS Cloud services.
• Containerization: Advanced proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD preferred).
• Infrastructure as Code: Expertise in Terraform (CloudFormation or ARM templates also an asset).
• CI/CD Tools: Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Operating Systems: Strong administration background in Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Version Control: Proficient in Git workflows and branching strategies.
• Monitoring Tools: Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or equivalent.
• Scripting: Proficiency in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• ITSM Tools: Experience with ServiceNow or equivalent; ITIL certification is an asset.
• Virtualization: Solid experience administering VMware vSphere 8.x/9.x environments.
