Your Functions
- Operate and further develop our network and security infrastructure with a focus on private cloud environments
- Plan and independently carry out complex configuration and migration tasks (routing, switching, firewalling)
- Analyze and resolve issues (3rd-level support) in close collaboration with operations and external vendors
- Design, test, and implement network solutions
- Monitor network availability and performance, conduct capacity planning and optimization
- Maintain up-to-date documentation (network diagrams, configurations, operational manuals)
- Use automation tools (e.g., Ansible) to streamline network operations and improve consistency
- Support the design of new network solutions in collaboration with architects and security experts
- Identify technical weaknesses and actively drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Completed technical education or university degree in IT, networking, or a comparable field
- Several years of hands-on experience in network operations and engineering, ideally in data center or cloud environments
- Deep knowledge of:
- Layer 2/3 switching (e.g., Cisco Nexus, HPE, Dell)
- Routing technologies (e.g., Juniper, BGP, OSPF, VRF)
- Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, including HA setups, VPNs, and UTM features
- Strong understanding of network security principles, segmentation, access control, and monitoring
- Familiar with private cloud infrastructure and network virtualization (e.g., VMware NSX)
- Experience with infrastructure automation (e.g., Ansible, Git) and monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios)
- Sound knowledge of ITIL-based processes (change, incident, problem) and agile methods (Scrum, Kanban)
- Structured, independent, and proactive work style with a high level of technical depth
- Team player with strong communication skills and ownership mindset
