We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Senior Backend Developer to enhance OMRT's backend development capabilities. The role offers a unique opportunity to take control of our tech stack, mentor junior team members, and grow alongside our company. As part of our team, you'll tackle diverse challenges in the real estate sector, working with cutting-edge technologies spanning 3D Geometry, Building Physics, Web Development, and application development. You will work on defining solutions for complex problems, laying a roadmap for other developers. In a nutshell, you will accelerate feature delivery and elevate code quality, directly contributing to the development of client-facing tools and overall business impact.
You'll report directly to our Head of Tech and collaborate closely with our Product and Studio teams to deliver robust and innovative products. Our mid-sized scaleup boasts a tech team of 11 members, including Frontend, Backend, DevOps, and Fullstack Developers, all dedicated to driving our success.
What you’ll do
You will bring fresh thinking, energy and mentorship to our team. What makes the role exciting is you get to build the technology behind client facing tools. You learn not only on-the-job but you also get to implement unique solutions for challenges unforeseen in the real estate market. You get to work on different services that run behind our products. On a day-to-day basis, you will work in a product-specific sprint team consisting of 3-4 members. This sprint team consists of Product Owner and developers.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code for server-side logic and databases.
- Develop and manage RESTful APIs to ensure seamless communication between the server and client-side applications.
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues to improve application performance.
- Ensure the implementation of security and data protection measures, including authentication and authorization protocols.
- Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with team members to maintain high code quality standards.
- Utilize cloud services to implement cloud computing capabilities.
- Actively participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Offer guidance and mentorship to junior developers, helping them to develop their skills and grow within the team
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree: Preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is a must.
- Advanced Degree: A Master’s degree in a relevant field is a plus; Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science or Data is a plus.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), or any relevant courses / bootcamps.
Experience:
- Minimum 5-6 years of experience in Medium to Large companies.
- Proven experience in building scalable software systems, preferably in B2C applications or B2B internal tooling.
- Experience in having worked in a product team is essential.
- Experience in an international environment is a plus.
- Your experience will help speed up the delivery process and provide valuable mentorship to the team.
